Licence for the reels you add
This is what you agree to when you open your SocialWire page. Read it once; it is short.
Your account and your reels
You confirm that you are 18 or over, that the Instagram account you connect is yours, and that you made the reels you add, or have the right to share them (including any music, clips and pictures inside them).
What you allow us
You give SocialWire a free, non-exclusive licence to store a copy of each reel you add or post as a reply, and to show it, with your name and a link to the original on Instagram, on the SocialWire website and apps, inside threads and issue pages, and in the previews that appear when someone shares a link to it. You keep the rights in your reels. We do not sell them.
Reels already on your page
Our team may already have saved some of your public Instagram reels to show on your page, with your name and a link to the original. By accepting, you allow us to keep showing them, and to save and show your newest public reels from the same Instagram account while your page is open, on the same terms as above. You can remove any reel, or your whole page, at any time, and we stop showing it within 24 hours.
Reply reels
When you post a reply reel, you link it to another creator's original reel. We show the two side by side, each with its creator's name and a link to the original, and we keep a copy of the original for that, with its credit, link and saved date. The original must be by someone else and posted before yours. Never post a reply as if you were the other creator.
"@you says"
A thread you post shows as what you say ("@yourhandle says"), with your name and no verdict. It is not a finding by SocialWire. Only our team adds a verdict, and only with sources. Our AI assistant, Orbit, may write out what your reel says and list its claims as "@yourhandle says" for our team to check. The other creator may reply, and we show their reply next to yours. You are responsible for what you say, so keep to what you can show to be true.
You stay in control
You can remove any reel, or your whole page, at any time. We stop showing it within 24 hours. Our team may also refuse or remove a reel or a thread, and when we do we tell you why and how to appeal.
If you delete your account
Your page, your reels and your details are deleted 14 days after you ask (you can cancel until then). Threads you filed that are already on the site, and your reels that a published thread or issue page uses as evidence, stay public with your name, handle and photo taken off: they show "Deleted account". Our advocate is reviewing this rule.
Your details
We keep your email, your Instagram handle, your follower count at the time we checked it, and a record of this acceptance (the version, the date and a scrambled version of your network address). The record is kept while your account is open and for one year after. We use them to run your account and to prove your permission. Our privacy page says more.
